It has been another six months since I last wrote here in Deviant Art. Well, busy schedules, procrastination and other whatever stuff I did prevented me from both updating my DA Journal as well as DA Gallery. But now at least I'll gonna put bits of something...

First of All, I would like to tell you about my Singapore trip just last week. Well, me and my friends (and the whole CSB delegation) attended the CG Overdrive Conference at the Singapore Expo. Well, even though the conference was a bit smaller than I expected, it was actually cool, especially if you see studios such as Lucasfilm (Starwars, Ironman, Transformers), Double Negative (Golden Compass, Pirates), Ubisoft (Splinter Cell, Assasin's Creed), 2K Games (Civilization, Bioshock) and lots more other studios. That's a whole lot of cool studios out there! Also, I learned a lot, from open source software like Blender, how to make effects, and the ways how they do their stuff. If you are on 3D CG stuff, this would have been a really good experience for you.

Also, from the conference, I learned a lot about job opportunities in Singapore. As of now, and till the near future, demand for CG artists are quite high, due to many works being produced by studios. That is why I plan to go back next year so that I can try to land a job in Singapore.

In other news, which I wasn't able to tell because I was busy, I had my first ever cosplay at Mangaholix Con '08 last May 31 on SMX beside Mall of Asia. Well, we're supposed to be at the group cosplay but because the other group members were late, we were not able to perform at the group cosplay. (which was really disappointing) But we were able to costrip and my costume had positive feedback. I was Alphonse Elric in armor by the way, which I made really quick so it was not accurate but sufficient enough. The pics will be shown later, as I don't have them with me yet.
